Description

This Lamb Kebab Slow Cooker recipe is a perfect combination of the rich, flavorful taste of lamb and the ease of slow cooking. The lamb is first marinated with a mix of warm spices, such as cumin, coriander, turmeric, and garam masala. The marinated lamb is then cooked low and slow in the slow cooker with a mix of onions, garlic, and ginger. The slow cooking process infuses the lamb with the aromatic flavors of the spices and herbs, resulting in an incredibly tender and flavorful dish. The slow cooker makes it easy to prepare and cook the lamb, making it an ideal choice for busy weeknights or for entertaining.

Ingredients

2 pounds boneless lamb shoulder, cubed
2 onions, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon coriander
1 teaspoon turmeric
1 teaspoon garam masala
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon freshly grated ginger
1 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons freshly chopped cilantro
2 tablespoons freshly chopped mint

Instructions

1. Place the lamb in a large bowl. Add the cumin, coriander, turmeric, garam masala, olive oil, ginger, sea salt, and pepper. Mix until the lamb is evenly coated with the spices. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight. 2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until lightly golden and softened, about 5 minutes. Add the garlic and cook for another minute. 3. Place the marinated lamb and onion mixture in the slow cooker. Stir to combine. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. 4. Remove the lid and add the cilantro and mint. Stir to combine. Cover and cook for another 5 minutes. 5. Serve the lamb kebab with warm naan or basmati rice. Enjoy!

Notes

You can also use lamb leg or lamb shank for this recipe. For a spicier dish, you can add some red pepper flakes to the marinade. For a milder dish, you can omit them. You can also add some diced tomatoes or tomato paste to the slow cooker for an extra flavor boost. You can serve the lamb kebab with a side of yogurt or tzatziki sauce.
