Ingredients

For the pork:
2 lbs pork shoulder
1/4 cup chicken broth
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon smoked paprika
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
For the slaw:
2 cups cabbage, shredded
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 teaspoon mustard powder
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

1. Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker.
2. In a small bowl, mix together the chicken broth, apple cider vinegar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
3. Pour the mixture over the pork and stir to coat.
4. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours, until the pork is very tender and pulls apart easily.
5. Once the pork is done, remove it from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
6. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the cooking liquid.
7. To make the slaw: In a medium bowl, mix together the cabbage, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, mustard powder, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
8. Serve the pulled pork with the slaw on the side.

Notes

For a spicier version of the pulled pork, add 1/2 teaspoon of cayenne pepper to the pork mixture.
