No-Boil Lasagna Recipe

For those of us who have ever tried to make a lasagna before, we know that the process can be time-consuming and labor-intensive. From boiling the noodles to layering the ingredients, it can be a daunting task. But fear not! This recipe will help you make a delicious lasagna without the need for pre-boiling the noodles. This no-boil lasagna recipe is sure to be a family favorite.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of ground beef
  • 1/2 cup of chopped onion
  • 1 (28 ounce) can of crushed tomatoes
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of ground black pepper
  • 1 (15 ounce) container of ricotta cheese
  • 1/2 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 (9 ounce) package of oven-ready lasagna noodles
  • 4 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese, divided

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium-high heat until it is no longer pink. Drain off any excess fat. Add the onion and garlic and cook for an additional 2 minutes. Add the crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.

In a medium bowl, combine the ricotta, Parmesan, and egg. Stir until all the ingredients are incorporated.

Spread 1 cup of the tomato sauce in the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Place 4 lasagna noodles over the sauce. Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Sprinkle 1 cup of the mozzarella cheese over the ricotta. Top with 4 more noodles and spread the remaining ricotta over them. Sprinkle with 1 cup of mozzarella cheese.

Top with the remaining noodles and spread the remaining tomato sauce over them. Sprinkle with the remaining mozzarella cheese. Cover the dish with aluminum foil. Bake for 45 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.

Let the lasagna stand for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

This lasagna recipe can also be made with ground turkey or sausage instead of ground beef. Feel free to use your favorite type of cheese, such as Monterey Jack or provolone, in place of the mozzarella. You can also add vegetables, such as spinach or mushrooms, to the ricotta mixture for added flavor and nutrition.
